Kids participating in Agape Development’s summer program honed their business and marketing skills by hosting snow cone sales at locations throughout Houston.  WorkFaith Connection and Marek Brothers Construction were some of Agape’s first customers.

The main purpose of the snow cone sale was to aid the teens in preparation for the job market and to provide a foundation for basic business skills. Since these kids  practically ran the sale by themselves, they were able to learn how to run a business, market a product, and  interact with customers. When asked what they liked best about the snow cone sale, there were several different responses:

“It is going to help my business readiness”, ” It will help me manage my money better”, and “I enjoy seeing the smile on the customers face after they get their snow cone.” Proceeds from the snow cone sales were split among the participating students at the end of the summer.
