Get Together Caps Off 8th Season!
The Get Together celebrated the end of it’s 8th Season in April with a time of testimony, praise and thanksgiving from business people and ministries. The 2010-2011 Season saw a record number of business people attending and serving ministries using their business expertise and networks.
During the 2010-2011 Season, members of The Get Together met 593 needs valued at $346,932. Here are a few of the ways lives were touched by business people involved in The Get Together.
- The gift of clear vision – 173 free eye exams and pairs of glasses donated by TSO for people who otherwise would have done without.
- Birthday parties for 313 inner-city kids whose parents could not afford this “luxury” thanks to Frank and Sandy Kampe who organized the Birthday Bag project at Christ Evangelical Presbyterian Church.
- Improved nutrition for kids living in the Third Ward thanks to a donation of 3,300 doses of children’s gummy vitamins.
- Hunters donated 69,248 lbs. of game meat to ministries feeding the hungry. That translates into one day’s worth of food for 23,000 families.
That’s just a sample of the many lives that were impacted by all who attended The Get Together Luncheons, heard the needs and used their God-given business expertise and networks to serve others.
But that’s only PART of the story! Business people who participated in serving others were impacted as much, if not more, than those being served. Here’s what they are saying:
A place of GIVING, where loving people can “Get Together” and share their “Blessings” with those in need. Where the True Experience of living the meaning of being Christian comes to life. – Randall Montalbano
My faith has grown more in the past seven years of being involved with the Get Together then I even knew was possible. – Mark Rome, Get Together Table Leader

Not to us, Lord not to us but to your name be the glory, because of your love and faithfulness.
