I believe the family that serves together grows strong together. It was our pleasure to serve lunch at to the kids attending Agape Development’s summer program in the Third Ward. For many of these at-risk children, their most regular lunches come from school. Without school in the summer months, there is a big gap. A local church provides lunch for the kids Tuesday-Thursday. Lunch for 60 kids is still needed on Mondays and Fridays. My family and I really enjoyed the experience. We spent the morning cleaning grapes and making sandwiches and boy did they love the grapes!
I want my children to see us serving first hand and serve along with them. For us, this experience was priceless. I challenge my Get Together family (that’s you:) )to help fill the gap on Mondays at Agape Development. Create an experience for your family that you won’t soon forget while serving our Lord at an amazing organization. Agape Development’s founder, Kirk Craig was called by God and he was obedient. He moved his family to the Third Ward so he could live where he was called to serve. That is what I call “walking the walk!”
Lunches are needed every Monday between now and July 26. For details, contact Anne Vickers, 713-658-1001, anne@agapedevelopment.org.
